Evidence standard and editorial policy
How we verify, how we write, and how we handle corrections and removals.
Evidence grades
Grade A · Data-backed
The amount rests on platform or marketplace data: payment-provider or billing data, a marketplace-vetted disclosure, a range from public platform counts × public price, or a report whose author saw the records.
Grade B · Self-reported
The founder's own public statement or a media report, with source and date; no platform data to check it against.
Grade C · Lead only
Unconfirmed: kept as a lead, income never shown.
Editorial policy
- We extract facts only (income, costs, tools, timelines) and write our own analysis; the writing step never sees the source text.
- Quotes are at most two sentences and always linked; we never republish other people's articles, posts or comments.
- Every income figure carries its evidence grade, basis and period; figures computed from platform counts are shown as ranges; grade C shows no income.
- We do not contact founders and use only public sources; every case is rechecked quarterly, grades go up and down, and closed projects stay listed.
- Analysis is drafted with AI help, checked and edited by an editor, and labelled on the page.
- We never use data behind logins or bypass any platform's anti-scraping measures.
Ads and affiliates
The site has no ads, affiliate links or sponsors today, sells no courses and charges nothing for being listed. Tool links in the guides go to official sites, and we earn nothing from them. If any commercial arrangement is added later, it will be described here first and labelled next to every link it affects; it will never change which cases we choose or how we grade them.
Contact, corrections and removal
Founders can ask for corrections or removal of their case at any time, rights holders can raise copyright complaints, and public links to cases worth adding are welcome. Include the page address and the reason; we reply within 7 working days.

Privacy and the newsletter
- This is a static site: no accounts, no cookies, no analytics or ad trackers; the site search runs in your browser. Fonts and images are served by this site itself, so opening a page sends no request to any third party; the web host's access logs are handled under its own privacy policy.
- When you subscribe, the address you enter goes straight to Buttondown, LLC (Virginia, USA), the email service that stores it and sends the newsletter; this site's servers never see it. It is used for this newsletter only, never for anything else and never shared.
- You get a confirmation email first; the subscription starts only when you click its link. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link that takes effect at once.
- To delete your address or ask what we hold, use the route under “Contact, corrections and removal” above; we handle it within the same time frame.
- Case pages carry only the founder's public business identity; sources and handling follow the editorial policy, and founders can ask for corrections or removal at any time.
